1. Where did you intern?
dei Frescobaldi (Restaurante Firenze), Social Media intern
2. How you heard about internship/how you applied
I reached out to my college in Florence while abroad about professional opportunities that they offer and submitted my resume for the nutrition social media position. I met with an advisor who interviewed me and then was notified that I was one of the 2 people chosen to have an interview with the restaurant's manager.
3. Favorite opportunity you had at the internship & why
My favorite part of my internship was having the opportunity to be behind the scenes in the kitchen, watching the chefs cook and be capturing great content to be used for their social media accounts. It's so cool to see my posts actually be posted on their pages and sometimes even translated into Italian.
4. Most challenging part of internship & why
Managing my time at my internship was the most challenging part because when I'm not in classes during the week, I travel frequently on the weekends- so making time with the little free time I have during the week and getting all of my school-work done as well was a challenge.
5. Greatest skill used/piece of advice to offer someone looking to apply
If you choose to study abroad for a semester, don't be afraid to look for an opportunity while you're abroad if it interests you! It is a great learning experience, especially if you are in a country whose language is not yours.
